Enjoy a relaxing downstream on 'The Nagi of the Mekong'  - a 36 meter traditional Laos style riverboat that cruises down the tenth longest river in the world. See the spectacular biodiversity along the river, as well as the breathtaking landscape of Laos. Visit hill tribe villages and see how simple the people live. Sleep a night in Pakbang and visit the local market. Don’t miss the caves near Pak Ou - both of which have plenty of Buddha statues.

First day:

Our minivan picks you up - between 06.00 - 06.30 am - from your hotel in Chiang Rai. After a two hour drive, you arrive in Chiang Khong and cross the border to Houixai. At around 09.00 am you embark on the boat and head downstream the Mekong river. Enjoy a relaxing boat ride served with tea, coffee, and fresh fruits. After two hours, the boat stops at a village in Laos located along the riverside. There, you have the chance to walk through the village and observe the simple life of the hill tribes.

As you get back on the riverboat, the staff serves a hot meal for lunch. In the afternoon, you arrive in Pak Beng and check-in at the Petchsokxai hotel or similar.

Second day:

Start the morning with a refreshing walk to the nearby local market. After returning to the hotel, you have time to have breakfast before leaving for your next destination. The riverboat - headed towards Luang Prabang - departs from Pak Beng at 08.00 am. As the first stop of the day, you visit another hill tribe village on the riverside before being served lunch on board. After lunch, as a second stop, you visit the famous caves near Pak Ou. After a full day of exploring and adventure, you will be arriving in Luang Prabang at the main pier around 16.00 pm.
